The 2017 Gauteng Masters was resounding success, Johan van Wyk and Michael David Hines who turns 72 tomorrow worked their way to the final with some great wins. The final was no different, both players scoring high in the frames they won but it was Johan who took the victory with a final frame break of 82. Well done Johan and kudos to you Mr Hines for not only playing at 72 but being so competitive.
highest break was won by non other than Munier Cassim with an awesome clearance of 105. If this level of snooker is sustained in Gauteng we can only tell the other provinces to get read for an interesting South African Champs.
I would personally like to thank the players because without you we have no tournament. To the Matchroom team, you can be very proud of your snooker club, many players commented on how good the speed and general standard was of you tables. Last but not least I would idk to thank Clive Smith for doing a great job as tournament director and referee. You are dependable and always willing to please, thank you Chappie.
Until the next break,
